Hurricane Isaias

Dear Owners,

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Isaias.  A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for our area with an increased chance for tropical storm force winds to come through the area.  The window for Tropical Storm Force Winds begins early Tuesday Morning until Tuesday afternoon with a potential for winds between 58 to 73 MPH.  We encourage you to take precautions to ensure as minimal disruption as possible.

  1. Bring outside items in if they could be picked up by the wind.
  2. Grills, lawn furniture, decorative items should be secured so they will not become a projectile.
  3. Always, always remember to report any power outages to dom.com or by calling 1-888-667-3000. Do not assume that someone else in the community has made the call.
  4. Continue to monitor the weather. There may be some dramatic changes to the timing and placement of the track.

MOST IMPORTANTLY

  1. Check your hurricane kits. Remember the COVID-19 crisis is still happening.
  2. Keep COVID-19 in mind when planning. Make sure there are plenty of masks in the hurricane kits.
  3. Shelters may not have the same capacity as they had before COVID-19? So keep all that in mind.

We have vendors that will be providing storm clean-up if the need should arise, they have their instructions and will respond accordingly.

If you have a life threatening emergency you should call 911.  Brooks Real Estate, Inc., has an after-hour emergency number (757-229-1507). You should call this number if you observe an immediate threat to association property, a manager will respond as quickly as possible.  I will conduct an inspection of your community after the storm has passed and there is no longer a safety concern.

Once again please be reminded that debris removal efforts for the common areas will not begin until the winds have stopped unless immediate containment is required to sustain life or property.

Please take proper precautions to keep you and your family safe.
